Curriculum Compass Intellectual Property Statement

Curriculum Compass, including its software platform, source code, system architecture, analytical frameworks, scoring methodologies, formulas, database structures, workflows, visualizations, user interface, branding, logos, documentation, and related technology, is the intellectual property of Brendan Palmer, unless otherwise expressly stated in writing.

This ownership includes the proprietary methods and systems developed to organize, analyze, compare, and present curriculum-related information, including the methodologies used to evaluate curriculum coverage, identify gaps, calculate analytical scores, and generate institution-level insights.

Ownership of Source Materials

Curriculum Compass does not claim ownership of syllabi, course materials, instructional documents, or other source materials submitted to or analyzed through the platform.

Such materials remain the intellectual property of their respective authors, faculty members, universities, institutions, or other applicable rights holders.

The submission, upload, processing, or analysis of source materials through Curriculum Compass does not transfer ownership of those materials to Brendan Palmer or Curriculum Compass.

Institutional Data

Universities and other institutions using Curriculum Compass retain ownership of the source materials and institutional information they provide to the platform.

Curriculum Compass may process such information solely for the purposes authorized by the institution or user, including curriculum analysis, reporting, benchmarking, research, and other agreed-upon platform functionality.

Unless separately authorized, Curriculum Compass does not grant one institution access to another institution's source documents or proprietary academic materials.

Derived Analysis and Platform Outputs

Curriculum Compass may generate analyses, scores, classifications, summaries, visualizations, reports, structured datasets, and other outputs based on information processed through the platform.

The underlying source materials remain the property of their respective owners. The proprietary systems, methodologies, formulas, analytical frameworks, and software used to generate these outputs remain the intellectual property of Brendan Palmer.

Any rights relating to institution-specific reports, exported data, aggregated data, benchmarking information, or other generated outputs may be further defined through applicable agreements, licenses, or terms of service.

Privacy and De-Identification

Curriculum Compass is designed to minimize the inclusion of personally identifying academic information where it is not necessary for analysis.

Where appropriate, exported or aggregated curriculum data may exclude information such as faculty names, individual course sections, or other identifying details while retaining information necessary for curriculum-level analysis, such as course title, semester, subject area, or related academic classifications.

No Transfer of Intellectual Property

Access to or use of Curriculum Compass does not transfer ownership of the platform or any of its proprietary intellectual property.

No portion of the Curriculum Compass software, methodology, scoring systems, formulas, branding, or other proprietary technology may be copied, reproduced, reverse engineered, redistributed, sublicensed, or commercially exploited without prior written authorization from Brendan Palmer, except as otherwise permitted by an applicable written agreement.
